Plus additional non-type material. •Valid as Jenynsia onca Lucinda, Reis & Quevedo 2002 -- (Ghedotti in Reis et al. 2003:584 [ref. 27061], Aguilera & Mirande 2005:29 [ref. 28572], Lucinda et al. 2006:619 [ref. 28893], Aguilera et al. 2013:571 [ref. 32916], Litz & Koerber 2014:32 [ref. 33622], Bertaco et al. 2016:423 [ref. 34561], Nión et al. 2016:43 [ref. 35565] as onça, Huber 2019:15 [ref. 36941], Loureiro et al. 2023:174 [ref. 40506]). Current status: Valid as Jenynsia onca Lucinda, Reis & Quevedo 2002. Anablepidae: Anablepinae. Distribution: South America: Ibicuí River basin (Brazil) and Negro River basin (Uruguay). Habitat: freshwater.
