Holotype (unique): CAS 201880. •Valid as Eptatretus lakeside Mincarone & McCosker 2004 -- (Fernholm & Quattrini 2008:131 [ref. 29539], McCosker & Rosenblatt 2010:187 [ref. 30957], Knapp et al. 2011:404 [ref. 37507]). •Valid as Rubicundus lakeside (Mincarone & McCosker 2004) -- (Fernholm et al. 2013:10 [ref. 32793], Zintzen et al. 2015:377 [ref. 33803], Angulo & Del Moral-Flores 2016:115 [ref. 34472], Mincarone et al. 2021:3 [ref. 38120]). Current status: Valid as Rubicundus lakeside (Mincarone & McCosker 2004). Myxinidae: Rubicundinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: Galápagos Islands (Ecuador). Habitat: marine.
