Name appeared first in Turner 1937:500 et seq., Pl. 1 (fig. 4 of trophotaeniae) [ref. 6400] but regarded as not recognizably differentiated in that work following Hubbs & Turner 1939. •Synonym of Xenoophorus captivus (Hubbs 1924) -- (Fitzsimons 1979:16 [ref. 36111], Miller 2006:286 [ref. 28615], Huber 2019:35 [ref. 36941]). Current status: Synonym of Xenoophorus captivus (Hubbs 1924). Goodeidae: Goodeinae. Habitat: freshwater.
