Paratypes: MNHV 1642-1675 (33), NMNHS 511-537 (27). Described as a new species by the same authors in 1986 [ref. 8038] with spelling peshevi; spelled peschevi in 1984. •Valid as Cobitis peschevi Sivkov & Dobrovolov 1984 -- (Vassilev 1998:282 [ref. 24118] as peshevi, Vassilev & Pehlivanov 2005:172 [ref. 28369]). •Synonym of Cobitis albicoloris Chichkoff 1932 -- (Ivanova & Dobrovolov 2002:37 [ref. 26746]). •Synonym of Cobitis strumicae Karaman 1955 -- (Economidis & Nalbant 1996:306 [ref. 23723], Kottelat 1997:88 [ref. 22952], Kottelat 2012:29 [ref. 32367], Freyhof et al. 2018:35 [ref. 36385]). Current status: Synonym of Cobitis strumicae Karaman 1955. Cobitidae. Habitat: freshwater.
