Holotype: NTUM 02882. Paratypes: NTUM 02870 (1), 02876 (1). Type catalog: Ho & Shao 2011:48 [ref. 31432]. Subjectively invalid; secondarily preoccupied in Chromis by Dascyllus caudofasciatus Montalban 1928; not replaced. •Synonym of Chromis fumea (Tanaka 1917) -- (Allen 1991:239 [ref. 19344], Ho & Shao 2011:48 [ref. 31432], Parenti 2021:52 [ref. 38418], Allen & Allen 2021:81 [ref. 38731]). 2°Homonym. Current status: Synonym of Chromis fumea (Tanaka 1917). Pomacentridae: Chrominae. Habitat: marine.
