Syntypes: BMNH 1919.9.10.36 (1), MRAC 7750 (1). •Valid as Hippopotamyrus macroterops (Boulenger 1920) -- (Gosse 1984:75 [ref. 6169], Kramer & Swartz 2010:2229 [ref. 30915], Munene et al. 2021:20 [ref. 39283]). •Valid as Pollimyrus macroterops (Boulenger 1920) -- (Sullivan et al. 2022:187 [ref. 39811]). Current status: Valid as Pollimyrus macroterops (Boulenger 1920). Mormyridae. Distribution: Central Africa: Congo River basin. Habitat: freshwater.
