Current status: Valid as Bairdiella icistia (Jordan & Gilbert 1882). Sciaenidae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: Pacific coast of southern Baja California Sur (Mexico) south to Guatemala, including Gulf of California (Mexico); introduced elsewhere. Habitat: brackish, marine.
