(whereabouts unknown). As Echeneidis nova species in title, but spelled Echeneis Neucratoides in the main heading, and that is the spelling used by current workers. Current status: Valid as Echeneis neucratoides Zuiew 1789. Echeneidae. Distribution: Western Atlantic: Massachusetts (U.S.A.) south to Rio Grande do Norte (Brazil), including Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea. Habitat: marine.
