A note in Eigenmann 1890:66 [ref. 27063] about the synonymy of a recently described species of Gobius from near San Diego was in reference to the young of this species. •Synonym of Gillichthys mirabilis Cooper 1864 -- (Randall et al. 1994:250 [ref. 21645]).
