Paratypes: USNM 81835 (1), 123184 (7, 1 c&s), 123185 (1). •Valid as Enypnias aceras Ginsburg 1939 -- (Hoese in Fischer et al. 1995:1134 [ref. 22829], Thomson et al. 2000:240 [ref. 25640], Rüber et al. 2003:1596 [ref. 26969], Van Tassell 2011:153 [ref. 31732]). •Valid as Gobiosoma acerus (Ginsberg 1939) -- (Tornabene & Van Tassell 2014:8 [ref. 33167], González-Murcia et al. 2019:293 [ref. 36544]). Current status: Valid as Gobiosoma aceras (Ginsburg 1939). Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: El Salvador south to Panama. Habitat: marine.
