Holotype: USNM 121546. Paratypes: ANSP [ex USNM 121547] (1); Dahl coll. [ex USNM 121547] (3); USNM 121547 (orig. 33, now 29). Additional non-type material: USNM 121548 (7), 121549 + 121550 (7), 121552 (3). •Status uncertain -- (Cervigón 1994:199 [ref. 24488] as shultzi and schultzi). •Valid as Garmannia schultzi Ginsburg 1944 -- (authors). •Valid as Gobiosoma schultzi (Ginsburg 1944) -- (Murdy & Hoese 2003:1794 [ref. 27111], Van Tassell 2011:154 [ref. 31732], Tornabene & Van Tassell 2014:24 [ref. 33167], Van Tassell et al. 2015:475 [ref. 33949], Parenti 2021:272 [ref. 38603]). Current status: Valid as Gobiosoma schultzi (Ginsburg 1944). Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Western Atlantic: Lake Maracaibo basin (Venezuela). Habitat: brackish, marine.
