Holotype (unique): LACM 44827-1 [ex UCR 2106]. •Valid as Lythrypnus alphigena Bussing 1990 -- (Allen & Robertson 1994:267 [ref. 22193], Hoese in Fischer et al. 1995:1135 [ref. 22829], Van Tassell 2011:141 [ref. 31732], Parenti 2021:195 [ref. 38603]). Current status: Valid as Lythrypnus alphigena Bussing 1990. Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: Cocos Island (Costa Rica). Habitat: marine.
