A.] 1990:100, Fig. 1 [Revista de Biología Tropical v. 38 (no. 1); ref. 19516] 2.6 kilometers west-northwest of Punta Gissler, Isla del Coco, Costa Rica, 5°33'N, 87°05'W, depth 137-146 meters. Holotype (unique): LACM 32264-7. •Valid as Lythrypnus lavenbergi Bussing 1990 -- (Hoese in Fischer et al. 1995:1135 [ref. 22829], Van Tassell 2011:141 [ref. 31732], Parenti 2021:196 [ref. 38603]). Current status: Valid as Lythrypnus lavenbergi Bussing 1990. Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: Cocos Island (Costa Rica) endemic. Habitat: marine.
