Current status: Valid as Ogcocephalus cubifrons (Richardson 1836). Ogcocephalidae. Distribution: Western Atlantic: South Carolina (U.S.A.) south to northern Bahamas and northern Cuba, including eastern Gulf of Mexico (U.S.A., Cuba, Mexico). IUCN (2015): Least Concern. Habitat: marine.
