Paratypes: CAS 58340 (1); LACM 32575 [ex UCR 702.008] (1), 47325-1 [ex UCR 2352.001] (1); SIO 73-276 (1). •Valid as Ophichthus mecopterus McCosker & Rosenblatt 1998 -- (Nelson et al. 2004:63 [ref. 27807], McCosker et al. 2012:11 [ref. 31982], Page et al. 2013:63 [ref. 32708], Page et al. 2023:54 [ref. 40505]). Current status: Valid as Ophichthus mecopterus McCosker & Rosenblatt 1998. Ophichthidae: Ophichthinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific. Habitat: marine.
