Current status: Valid as Orthopristis scapularis Fowler 1915. Haemulidae: Haemulinae. Distribution: Western Atlantic: Honduras, Colombia, Venezuela, Netherlands Antilles, Trinidad and Tobago and French Guiana south to Espíritu Santo (Brazil). Habitat: marine.
