monophthalmus, Auchenopterus Günther [A.] 1861:275 [Catalogue of the fishes in the British Museum v. 3; ref. 1964] Pacific coast of Central America. Syntypes: (3) BMNH 1861.8.13.19-21 (2). Also appeared as new in Günther 1862:374 [5] [ref. 1968] as Cremnobates monophthalmus. •Valid as Paraclinus monophthalmus (Günther 1861) -- (Allen & Robertson 1994:235 [ref. 22193], Hastings in Fischer et al. 1995:1014 [ref. 22829], Patzner et al. 2009:464 [ref. 30396], González-Murcia et al. 2019:295 [ref. 36544]). Current status: Valid as Paraclinus monophthalmus (Günther 1861). Labrisomidae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: El Salvador, Costa Rica and Panama. Habitat: marine.
