Paratypes: KUMF (7); MCZ 47301 (58 or 56, 2 c&s), 47302 (20). •Valid as Phenacostethus posthon Roberts 1971 -- (Parenti 1989:268 [ref. 13486], Kottelat et al. 1993:96 [ref. 23448], Parenti 1996:704 [ref. 22231], Shibukawa et al. 2012:44 [ref. 32037], Kulabtong et al. 2012:159 [ref. 32364], Kottelat 2013:285 [ref. 32989], Parenti 2014:178 [ref. 33268]). Current status: Valid as Phenacostethus posthon Roberts 1971. Phallostethidae. Distribution: Southeastern Asia. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.

Holotype: ROM 41826. Paratypes: AMNH 55570 (5); BMNH 1984.7.12.1-5 (5, now 4); CAS 55454 (5, 1 c&s); ROM 41827 (1), 41829-30 (1, 13), 44289 (19), ROM CS 812 (3, c&s); USNM 267266 (5).
