Distribution: South America: Trinidad Island (Trinidad and Tobago) south to northeastern Brazil (Brazil, Colombia, Guiana, French Guiana, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela). Habitat: freshwater, brackish.

Engraulidae: Engraulinae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
