Type catalog: Bertin 1939:91 [ref. 20739], Séret & McEachran 1987:25 [ref. 9312]. Evidently Müller & Henle alone were responsible for the description, so authorship is regarded as Müller & Henle (ex Valenciennes). •Synonym of Rhinoptera bonasus (Mitchill 1815) -- (Jones et al. 2020:301 [ref. 37610]). Current status: Synonym of Rhinoptera bonasus (Mitchill 1815). Rhinopteridae. Habitat: brackish, marine.
