Apparently the same as Rhinoptera brasiliensis Müller 1836 and not an original description. •Valid as Rhinoptera brasiliensis Müller 1836 -- (Castro-Aguirre & Espinosa Pérez 1996:58 [ref. 22793], Spier et al. 2018:5 [ref. 36103]). •Questionably valid as Rhinoptera brasiliensis Müller 1836 -- (Compagno 1999:498 [ref. 25589]). •See Cervigón & Alcalá 1999:209 [ref. 24490]. Current status: Synonym of Rhinoptera brasiliensis Müller 1836. Rhinopteridae. Distribution: Brazil. Habitat: marine.
