Possible syntypes: AMS B.7529 (1) Moulmein. Original genus should have been Acanthopsis Agasssiz 1832. Holotype: NRM 20829. Paratypes: NRM 10821 (1), 10829 (3), 23182-83 (2, 2), 33185 (1). •Synonym of Lepidocephalus guntea (Hamilton 1822) -- (Talwar & Jhingran 1991:525 [ref. 20764]). •Synonym of Lepidocephalus berdmorei (Blyth 1860) -- (Menon 1992:72 [ref. 23970], Menon 1999:160 [ref. 24904]). •Valid as Lepidocephalichthys birmanicus (Rendahl 1948) -- (Rainboth 1996:137 [ref. 22772]). •Synonym of Lepidocephalichthys berdmorei (Blyth 1860) -- (Kottelat & Lim 1992:205 [ref. 21291], Kottelat 2001:90 [ref. 25780] as burmanicus, Havird & Page 2010:145 [ref. 30739], Kottelat 2012:32 [ref. 32367]). Current status: Synonym of Lepidocephalichthys berdmorei (Blyth 1860). Cobitidae. Habitat: freshwater.

Holotype (unique): SRS/ZSI 3371. •Valid as Acanthophthalmus longipinnis Menon 1992 -- (Karmakar 2000:31 [ref. 25662]). •Valid as Pangio longipinnis (Menon 1992) -- (Menon 1999:166 [ref. 24904], Raju Thomas et al. 1999:479 [ref. 25441]). •A synonym of Lepidocephalichthys berdmorei (Blyth 1860) -- (Kottelat 2012:32 [ref. 32367] with question, Kottelat 2013:179 [ref. 32989] with question). •A speces of Lepidocephalichthys -- (Britz et al. 2012:47 [ref. 32066]). Current status: Valid as Lepidocephalichthys longipinnis (Menon 1992). Cobitidae. Distribution: India. Habitat: freshwater.
