Based on Fabricius 1780:135 [ref. 17464] from off Greenland and on other authors. •Incertae sedis in Liparidae -- (Chernova et al. 2004:62 [ref. 27592]). •Valid as Liparis major Gill 1864 -- (Mecklenburg et al. 2016:139 [ref. 34440] see remarks, the older name for Liparis bathyarcticus Parr 1932, needs investigation). Current status: Uncertain as Liparis bathyarcticus Parr 1932. Liparidae. Distribution: North Atlantic and Arctic. Habitat: marine.
