Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa), East Africa, Mayotte (France), Madagascar and western Mascarenes (La Réunion, Mauritius) east to Samoa, north to Korea and Kuril Islands, south to Western Australia at 27°42'S, New South Wales (Australia) at 34°53'S and New Caledonia. Habitat: brackish, marine.
