Georef. Remarks | Suwo, Formosa circa 1919 south of Gilan, is now present day Suao Township along the east coast in Yilan County. This cyprinid species name Zacco temmincki is no longer a valid synonym. The original combination is Nipponpcypris temmincki (Temminck and Schlegel, 1846). It is also called into doubt whether this species occurs on Taiwan according to Fishbase.org. This specimen was likely collected in town along the Bai Mi He creek.
