Ctenocella pectinata (Pallas, 1766) ----- ALCYONACEA: ELLISELLIDAE

Genus: Ctenocella is a monospecific genus.

Description: Colonies in one plane, comb-like or lyre-like. Sclerites are predominantly double heads. Color permanent - reddish brown to salmon/orange or yellowish to white; polyps white.

Characteristics: Azooxanthellate; Comb-shaped with parallel and upright terminal branches.

Distribution: Western tropical Pacific Ocean; 20-30 m depth; often in deeper parts of reefs.
