Current status: Valid as Cleithracara maronii (Steindachner 1881). Cichlidae: Cichlinae. Distribution: Trinidad Island and northern South America: French Guiana, Guyana, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela, and Amapá (northeastern Brazil). Habitat: freshwater.
