Current status: Valid as Serrasalmus gouldingi Fink & Machado-Allison 1992. Serrasalmidae: Serrasalminae. Distribution: South America: Amazon and Orinoco River basins (Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia and Venezuela). Habitat: freshwater.
