Paratypes: ANSP 168000-168001 (21, 8), 168005 (43), 168890 (2); FMNH 106507-09 (24, 33, 1); MBUCV-V-20770 (6), 26309 (2), 26509 (47), 27966-67 (33, 46). •Valid as Bryconops colaroja Chernoff & Machado-Allison 1999 -- (Chernoff et al. 2002:199 [ref. 26532], Buckup in Reis et al. 2003:119 [ref. 27061], Chernoff & Machado-Allison 2005:22 [ref. 28573], Silva-Oliveira et al. 2018:380 [ref. 36284], Silva-Oliveira et al. 2019:20 [ref. 36769], Silva-Oliveira et al. 2019:382 [ref. 36876], Silva-Oliveira & Lima 2024:372 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Bryconops colaroja Chernoff & Machado-Allison 1999. Iguanodectidae. Distribution: South America: Cuyuní River drainage in vicinity of Venezuela-Guyana border, Venezuela and Rio Cupari drainage, Brazil. Habitat: freshwater.
