rua, Taumakoides Hardy [G. S.] 1985:367, Fig. 6 [New Zealand Journal of Zoology v. 11; ref. 5184] Off Barrett's Reef, Wellington harbor entrance, New Zealand, depth 12 meters. Holotype: NMNZ P.13852. Paratypes: AIM 2462 (1), BMNH 1983.9.14.2 (1), NMNZ (34, 16 lots), USNM 261312 (1). Type catalog: Hardy 1990:10 [ref. 18942]. •Valid as Taumakoides rua Hardy 1985 -- (Paulin et al. 1989:178 [ref. 24556]). •Valid as Acanthoclinus rua (Hardy 1985) -- (Smith-Vaniz & Johnson 1990:226 [ref. 16561], Paulin & Roberts 1992:56 [ref. 24625], Mooi & Gill 2004:181 [ref. 27890], Stewart 2015:1212 [ref. 34196]). Current status: Valid as Acanthoclinus rua (Hardy 1985). Plesiopidae: Acanthoclininae. Distribution: New Zealand and offshore islands. Habitat: marine.
