Collecting Event Remarks |
Water Temp. = 17.5 C. A large fully plated male with red on dent. Max back across head below eye to top operc. Then on ectocoracoid and up to posterior dorsal base of pectoral and back across lateral plates. The whole ventral head to rear of pelvic girdle red. The iris was bright blue as was the dorsal surface to a lesser extent. This male was taken in the same seine haul as a gravid female with anterior plates only. Habitat is a curve in the river with a sandbar on the inside of the curve and we seined around the sandbar. Fish also came from backwater. Cotids are abundant. Shrimp are present. Took about 10 seine hauls to get our limit. Also caught cottid and Platichthys sp. |
