Collecting Event Remarks Water temp. = ? C. All traps set between 1800 and 1930 hr. Site A: place usually sampled in previous years. Site B: on west shore near outlet. Site C: near back of trout basin at beaver lodge. Site D: near back of rear basin. Lake level had risen about 25 cm by beaver dam on outlet. Rear basin had lots of brown floating algae and submerged branches. Front basin had Chara patches on marl and emergent vegetation and fallen logs near shore. Site A: began picking up traps at 300. 31 blackfish and a lot of stickleback-2 full jars in formalin, none were let go. Site B: 325 began collecting. Caught 1 rainbow trout and 6 blackfish. 1 jar of stickleback was collected, none were thrown back. There was a "blackfish effect". Traps with blackfish had little or no stickleback. Site C: 356. 2 sculpin, 2 trout and 3 blackfish were caught. 1 very full jar of stickleback caught. None were thrown back. Site D: 410 about 1/2 jar of stickleback was collected. Many traps were found empty and a few were found very full.
