Water temp. = ? C. Anjeli Karve set these traps on June 17 for us yesterday. Only stickleback caught, including anadromous and resident Gasterosteus and Pungitius. Resident Gasterosteus were most abundant, followed by anadromous. 55 anadromous Gasterosteus taken for DNA. 55 resident Gasterosteus taken for DNA. 55 anadromous Gasterosteus fixed in phosphate-buffered formalin for brain. 55 resident Gasterosteus fixed for brain. 35 Pungitius taken live to ship to Mike Shapiro. One trap had 8 Pungitius and 20 Gasterosteus including spatial heterogeneity of abundance. No gravid Pungitius or anadromous Gasterosteus, but there were nuptial males of both. |
