m, f, juveniles. Fixed in 10% buffered (dolomite) formalin ~1 month. |
Collecting Event Remarks |
Water temp. = 15 C. Salmo gairdneri-only stomachs were collected. Sticklebacks were collected in a pool. There where many small fry and many of these were thrown back. Some Cottus thown back. Large trout had developing ovaries. This pool was thoroughly seined but 4 additional sticklebacks were taken upstream. This pool is a pothole formed downstream of steep riffles. Downstream the stream is dry for 2-3 miles. In the stomach of the trout were found sow bugs, horsehair worms and boatmen and snails. Also caught Oncorhynchus mykiss and Cottus sp. |
