Collecting Event Remarks Water temp. = ? C. We set traps only at station B, adjacent to the Parks Highway and at station C, at the edge of the large lily pad patch across the lake. We did not see a single stickleback as we (Jill and I) rowed across the lake and me could see about 1 m into the water. Pulled traps at station C at 10:30 am at 31 May and got about 60 stickleback. Pulled traps at station B at 11:00 am and got 200 sticklebacks. Traps put back in without moving. Set 9 traps at 11:15 am, 31 May at station A to north of boat ramp. I will put traps into station D and E later today when we pull them from other lakes. I will pool samples captured on June 2 and 3. Stations: A-boat ramp, B-along north shore near road; C-opposite side at south edge of large lily pad patch; D-near outlet stream and E-along shore near gravel pit. 1 additional trap set to south of public access at station A at 3:30 on 31 May. Nine traps set at station D at 3:45 on 31 May. Nine traps set at station E at 4:00 on 31 May. During our hour or so on the lake we looked in the shallows and as we set traps and never saw a stickleback. Traps pulled 1 June: A at 11:00, B at 10:45, C at 1000, D at 900, E at 930. Some nuptial males have red on flanks and on pelvis, much like anadromous males.
