California Wild
California Wild is the quarterly
natural history magazine of the California Academy of Sciences, the oldest
scientific institution in the West. Our stories focus on the wildlife,
history, and environment of the West, but often roam much farther afield.
Our story topics range from astronomy to ants, interviews with leading
researchers and the ways in which humans are changing the natural environment.
Each story is accompanied by images from some of the finest nature photographers
working today. Founded as Pacific Discovery, we have surprised
and delighted millions of readers since 1948.
