Water temp. = 25 C. Riffle pool habitat with large boulders on stream bed. It recently had rained causing flooding and siltation. All areas covered in at least a thin layer of mud. Both species very rare but might be more abundant when conditions are favorable. Water temp. = Fish captured in 2 places: small pool (2 m long) with rock at side (fish at base of rock), and pool below waterfall (0.5 m long). Belostomatids abundant. Hyla very unusual looking here - skin with scattered large bumps, large grey blotches with symetrical pattern and golden-brown spots also symetrical-very striking. Also caught 5 Rhinichthys. |
