Tadpoles present, plus dytiscids, leeches, and dragonfly naiads. This appears to be a normal freshwater assemblage. No other fish species seen or trapped though. |

Water temp. = ? C. Fish were seined from a shallow pool above the bridge at Foster Park; a fairly flat graded (bulldozed) basin with a dam of cobbles built by kids at the bottom. It is about 50 m long and 20 m wide. Most fish were seined from below floating filamentous algae, near the inlet were there is some current. The minnows (20) and sculpin (2) came from the stream. A wide range of body sizes, down to very young fry were picked out of the seined algae, and there were some nuptial males, but no gravid females. Also, lots of small fish, down to 2 cm had a bit of red on the chin. |
