Gasterosteus aculeatus was examined for secondary sex characters: male appearance of red nuptial coloring: pelvic fin or tip of lower jaw-29, lower jaw and throat-75, lower head and operculum-2. Female: abdominal swelling indicating developing ova, slight swelling-0, full swelling-0. Sex indeterminate: 119 (no nuptial coloring, abdomen not swollen). Total: 226.

Collecting Event Remarks Water Temp. = 10 C. Sticklebacks not abundant although habitat appears favorable. Few males in low nuptial coloration - not fully colored. No gravid females. Fork point upstream where we have seen sticklebacks. Water probably high in dissolved solids because of abundant precipitation on rocks. Also caught Gila orcutti.

Collecting Event Remarks Water Temp. = 12 C. About 1/3 of width in this area is filled with emergent cattails. Many males with moderate nuptial coloration. Sticklebacks most abundant, then some small trout and Gila are rare. Also caught Oncorhynchus mykiss and Gila orcutti.

Collecting Event Remarks Water Temp. = 28 C. All but a few of the fish were taken below the spillway of an earth and concrete dam. The sticklebacks came from the margins of the stream where the water velocity is slight. Sticklebacks very rare, only one was found upstream of dam. Also caught "Gila?," "Catostomus?" and Gambusia affinis.
