Water Temp. = 21.5 C. Many Gasterosteus aculeatus williamsoni with white spots on skin. One large dead one seen (not collected). At least 2 G. a. williamsoni collected with male nuptial color but swollen abdomens resembling females. Also present: Catostomus santaeanaae, Lepomus sp., and Gambusia affinis. |

Water Temp. = ? C. 8B: Gasterosteus aculeatus williamsoni male with nuptial coloration (red below level of eye on head and operculum) Caught by hand-swam sluggishly. Skin sloughing. Collected nex to downstream island in current (Fixed in ethanol). 8C: G. a. williamsoni male same condition and position in pool as 8B. Fixed in 10% formalin. 8D: Fish from culvert (30 min sample). G. a. williamsoni: 5 males, 2 females, 2 indet. 8E: contents of net at bottom of culvert. 8F: Fish and insects from emergent plant mass 2 m long surrounded by seine and preserved. |

Fairly unchanged except that it is generally shallow and vegetation had encroached upon upper end of pool and along left side. Many males [Gasterosteus aculeatus] with high nuptial coloration. Also caught Gila orcutti and Catostomus sp. |

Water Temp. = 24 C. Some males with nuptial coloration seen. Many sticklebacks seen swimming in current. Gila orcutti relatively rare - sticklebacks abundant. Stream sinks into sand within 100 m downstream of bridge. Most of the habitat consists of shallow pools formed by small dams. Garter snake caught. Local water and power man said that sticklebacks have been here since the 30s. Gila orcutti fry abundant in shallows. Dead sticklebacks noted. Also caught Gila orcutti. |
