Locality | Chietla | ||||||
Latitude-Longitude | 18.522850°, -98.577550°; uncertainty: 872 m (Source: FishNet Collaborative Georeferencing Project) | Bottom Type
Georef. Remarks | No such Rio Coetzala at Chietla, Puebla. The two rivers there are called "Rio Nexapa" and "Rio Ahuehuello". References to "Rio Coetzala" only in reports by Seth Meek (1901/1903) or William Lawrence Tower (1906). This makes sense, since they were collaborators (See Meek, SE (1904), "Freshwater Fishes of Mexico North of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec", pp. v and xxx). Name only appears as town in state of Veracruz, 10 km S of Cordoba. No reference to a river by that name in Mexican INEGI.
