Georef. RemarksNo such Rio Canatlan here. Marker placed in result of "Arroyo Las Cabras"+"Arroyo Las Huertas". This stream joins "Arroyo El Carpintero" at (24.1734436, -104.705183), ca. 2.87 km NNE of here; resulting river then flows into the Presa Peņa del Aguila (Reservoir), out of which flows the "Rio La Sauceda". J Tamayo, in Geografia General de Mexico (1949), Vol.II,p.304-305, says this river and Rio Canatlan join at some point.I believe dam built after collection and altered landscape.Please correct to MEZQUITAL

Georef. RemarksHot springs not found exactly, but they were probably in this vicinity. Assuming city limits in 1952 were close to the bus station at (24.0335, -104.6412). Marker placed at spring/pond seen on Mexican INEGI maps, and uncertainty radius includes larger water body 1 km to the NE, and stream on west. CAS 33901 & USNM 327320.5222816 both collected by S. H. WEITZMAN & J. D. LATTIN on August 3rd, 1952.

Georef. RemarksAll of these specimens described by Meek in his 1904 publication of the Field Museum (Freshwater Fishes of Mexico...). On page xxix, he writes "... a small collection received in June from Mr. H. Douglas, conductor on International Railroad." This locality is the only one relatively close to a railroad (6 km./3.85 mi.) (all 3 other localities with similar names had no railroad nearby). Uncertainty radius includes nearby streams.
