Locality Chietla
Latitude-Longitude 18.522850°, -98.577550°; uncertainty: 872 m (Source: FishNet Collaborative Georeferencing Project) Bottom Type
Georef. RemarksNo such Rio Coetzala at Chietla, Puebla. The two rivers there are called "Rio Nexapa" and "Rio Ahuehuello". References to "Rio Coetzala" only in reports by Seth Meek (1901/1903) or William Lawrence Tower (1906). This makes sense, since they were collaborators (See Meek, SE (1904), "Freshwater Fishes of Mexico North of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec", pp. v and xxx). Name only appears as town in state of Veracruz, 10 km S of Cordoba. No reference to a river by that name in Mexican INEGI.
