Habitat: marine. marmoratus, Chironemus Günther [A.] 1860:76 [Catalogue of the fishes in the British Museum v. 2; ref. 1963] Swan River and Erub [= Darnley] Island, western coast of Australia [in error. outside of current range]. Syntypes: BMNH 1847.6.17.12 (right half skin), ? BMNH 1847.6.17.11 (skin).
