Apparently an unneeded replacement for Hypnos Duméril 1852, not preoccupied by Hypna Hübner 1816 in Lepidoptera. Spelled Hypnarea in index p. 9 to Zoological Record for 1902. •Synonym of Hypnos Duméril 1852 -- (Compagno & Heemstra 2007:43 [ref. 29194]). Current status: Synonym of Hypnos Duméril 1852. Hypnidae.
