The genus Ceratodus is not included in Eschmeyer's Catalog, because its type species is based on a fossil. •Synonym of Neoceratodus Castelnau 1876 -- (Paxton et al. 1989:102 [ref. 12442], Allen & Cross 2006:212 [ref. 29003]). Current status: Synonym of Neoceratodus Castelnau 1876. Neoceratodontidae.

Neoceratodus Castelnau [F. L.] 1876:130, 132 Masc. Neoceratodus blanchardi Castelnau 1876. Type by monotypy. Placed in the family Neoceratodontidae by Kemp 1997 [ref. 31059] and others. •Valid as Neoceratodus Castenau 1876 -- (Paxton et al. 1989:102 [ref. 12442], Allen & Cross 2006:212 [ref. 29003], Kemp 1997:719 [ref. 31059]). Current status: Valid as Neoceratodus Castelnau 1876. Neoceratodontidae.

Ompax Castelnau [F. L.] 1879:165 Fem. Ompax spatuloides Castelnau 1879. Type by original designation (also monotypic). Perhaps mythical; based on a drawing that is probably a rough representation of Epiceratodus Teller, according to Jordan. A sketch based on a madeup fish and involving a hoax (Herald 1961:291 [ref. 13600]). Neoceratodontidae.
