Current status: Valid as Marukawichthys pacificus Yabe 1983. Rhamphocottidae. Distribution: North Pacific (Emperor Seamount Chain). Habitat: marine. richardsonii, Rhamphocottus Günther [A.] 1874:369 [3] [Annals and Magazine of Natural History (Series 4) v. 14 (no. 83) (art. 47); ref. 2006] Fort Rupert, British Columbia, Canada. Holotype (unique): BMNH 1868.2.12.4.
