Current status: Valid as Rhyacichthys guilberti Dingerkus & Séret 1992. Rhyacichthyidae. Distribution: Western Pacific: New Caledonia (locally extinct), Vanuatu, Solomons Islands and Papua. Habitat: freshwater. sinensis, Platyptera Bleeker [P.] 1872:127, 152 [Nederlandsch Tijdschrift voor de Dierkunde v. 4; ref. 431] China. No types known.
