Holotype: CAS 95170. Paratypes: CAS 95171 (6, 2 c&s), 95172 (1). •Valid as Serpenticobitis cingulata Roberts 1997 -- (Kottelat 2001:93 [ref. 25780], Kottelat 2012:73 [ref. 32367], Kottelat 2013:198 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Valid as Serpenticobitis cingulata Roberts 1997. Serpenticobitidae. Distribution: Thailand. Habitat: freshwater.

octozona, Serpenticobitis Roberts [T. R.] 1997:112, Figs. 1-5 [Natural History Bulletin of the Siam Society v. 45 (no. 1); ref. 23284] Xe Nam Noi on eastern slope of Bolaven Plateau, about 30 kilometers from Ban Nam Tang, Attapeu Province, Laos, elevation 130 meters. Holotype: CAS 95165. Paratypes: CAS 95166 (11), 95167 (7), 95168 (11), 95169 (19, 3 c&s). •Valid as Serpenticobitis octozona Roberts 1997 -- (Kottelat 2001:93 [ref. 25780], Kottelat 2012:73 [ref. 32367], Kottelat 2013:198 [ref. 32989], Taki et al. 2021:200 [ref. 39830]). Current status: Valid as Serpenticobitis octozona Roberts 1997. Serpenticobitidae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Xe Kong River drainage, southern Laos and Cambodia. Habitat: freshwater.

zonata, Serpenticobitis Kottelat [M.] 1998:92, Figs. 134-135 [Ichthyological Exploration of Freshwaters v. 9 (no. 1); ref. 23436] Xe Bangfai, about 3 kilometers upriver of Ban Pakphanang, 17°24'20"N, 104°45'50"E, Laos. Holotype: ZRC 41810. Paratypes: CMK 12398 (2), 12620 (1); DFV uncat. (1). As Bangfaia zonata in caption to Fig. 134, and in Bangfaia in text on p. 96; Bangfaia apparently left in by mistake and not intended as a new genus as Kottelat referred his species to Serpenticobitis Roberts 1997. •Valid as Serpenticobitis zonata Kottelat 1998 -- (Kottelat 2001:93 [ref. 25780], Kottelat 2012:73 [ref. 32367], Kottelat 2013:198 [ref. 32989], Kottelat 2015:45 [ref. 33971]). Current status: Valid as Serpenticobitis zonata Kottelat 1998. Serpenticobitidae. Distribution: Xe Bangfai and Mekong basin, Laos. Habitat: freshwater.
