Current status: Valid as Thaumatichthys binghami Parr 1927. Thaumatichthyidae. Distribution: Western Atlantic. Habitat: marine.

Holotype (unique): USNM 72952. First author is H. M. Smith. •Valid as Thaumatichthys pagidostomus Smith & Radcliffe 1912 -- (Bertelsen & Struhsaker 1977:36 [ref. 5331], Stewart & Pietsch 1998:21 [ref. 23378], Pietsch 1999:2033 [ref. 24766], Pietsch 2009:375 [ref. 30766]). Current status: Valid as Thaumatichthys pagidostomus Smith & Radcliffe 1912. Thaumatichthyidae. Distribution: Off Sulawesi and (tentatively) Taiwan. Habitat: marine.
